(Received November 12, 1.45 a.m.) _ LONDON, November 11. “Tv, he^- eronautical correspondent of , ne Times’ says the Air Ministry nas approved negotiations for the supply of Lockheed Electra air mers for a mail service from London to Sweden, for which British Airways, Ltd., has received a subsidy of £20,000 per annum. Hitherto it has been obligatory to use only British aircraft on subsidised routes. The decision, which is serious, was made because British manufacturers could not supply for many months the 20-seater aeroplanes stipulated in the subsidy agreement, and because of the Air Ministry’s recent order for de Havilland 86 air liners, on which the company intended to rely. In the meantime the company must not fly at night. The Lockheed factory has promised delivery m four months, Whereas suitable British aeroplanes were unavailable for nine months.
