LABOUR LEADER HONOURED
GATHERING AT MR HOLLAND’S
GRAVE
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
WELLINGTON, October 8,
The third anniversary of the death iof Mr H. E. Holland was recognised to-day by a gathering at the graveside in the Bolton street cemetery. More than 50 members of the legislature were present, including Ministers. The Minister for Education (the Hon, P. Fraser), in the absence of the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, who owing to deputation appointments was unable to be present, gave a short address on the inspiring work of the former leader. He announced that the. memorial to be erected oyer Mr Holland’s grave would be completed in time for the unveiling ceremony at the next Easier conference of the Labour party in Wellington. Wreaths from a number of Labour organisations throughout the Dominion, and also from the National Executive, were laid on the grave.
