TRAMWAY BOARD ELECTION
TO THE EDITOB OF THE PBE3B- - that Hiram Hunter has butted in on the argument that “S.” and “Remembrance” have had in “The Press,” I am butting in on Hiram Hunter.
If Hiram Hunter wants proof that the Tramway Board for the last three years has been dominated from the Trades Hall, I can give him several facts, but in the meantime I will just quote one and invite Hiram Hunter to reply. The one I will quote now is an official statement released from the Trades Hall by one of the secretaries. At a Thursday night meeting of the Labour Representation Committee held before the candidates were selected for the last council election (not the byelection), the following statement appeared in the papers on the Friday:“At last night’s meeting of the Labour Representation Committee no finality as regards the Labour candidates was arrived at, as the whole of the meeting was devoted to the monthly report from the Tramway Board.” Now, will Hiram Hunter please tell me and the readers of “The Press” why the board has to make a monthly report to the Labour Representation Committee.— Yours, etc.. CANON STREET. October 0, 1930.
