LATE INTRODUCTION OF LOCAL BILLS

WELLINGTON, October 7.
A warnin to local bodies that future requests for the suspension of the standing orders of Parliament to allow the introduction of local bills later than 42 days after the beginning of the session would be refused was given b. the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) in the House of, Representatives to-day. Protests against this practice have been made by Mr Savage at least tw’ce 'during the last few weeks, but he Prime Minister made it clear today that it was his final warning and that local bills coming along in future after the stipulated period for their introduction had expired would be blocked.
