AUCKLAND, October 6,
So great has been the run on the commerce stamps in Auckland that at the moment there are no supplies of the sixpenny, fourpenny, ahd twopence-halfpenny issues. Collectors have been extraordinarily busy and on the opening day, October 1, single orders up to £3OO were placed for the stamps, some collectors buying for overseas. Postal officials say that they have placed no restrictions on sales. Yesterday a further supply of the twopence-halfpenny and sixpenny stamps was available. The former were sold out within half an hour and the rest by midday.
ENQUIRY AT WELLINGTON
(PHKSS ASSOCIATION TKLEOiUM.)
WELLINGTON. October 6
Enquiries at the Post Office show that the demand for the new commerce stamps has been so great that the supplies of some denominations have already been sold out, and the remaining ones will not last long. Only a limited number were printed, and when the stocks are exhausted theta will be no replacements. Figures are not available at present as to the number of each denomination printed. ‘
