TRADE EMBARGO ON AUSTRALIA
NEGOTIATIONS TO BE OPENED BY HON* W. NASH
[From Our Parliamentary Reporter] WELLINGTON, October 6.
The embargo oh Australian fruit will be one of the points discussed with the Cominonwealth Government by New Zealand after the return of the Minister for Pinance (the Hon. W. Nash) from England. This was made clear by Mr Nash when referring this evening to a report from Sydney that the Australian Minister for Defence (Sir Arehdale Parkhill) had held discussions with members* of the New Zealand Government about the embargo during his visit last week. .
“The subject was certainly raised by Sir Archdale " Mr Nash said, “but could not be carried any great dis* tance, as has been previously stated.
