A. Ryan, SO Bowen St, Hilda, Dunedin; Miss M. Graham, Sunshine Lane, Sunshine, Dunedin, E. 1.; Mrs Rogers, 14 Severn street, Christchurch, 'N.I. , Mrs Kent-Joluiston (Judge) makes the following comment: "The first prize was awarded to a contributor who showed distinct originality and ingenuity. The competition was, however, judged chiefly on the merits of recipes or'suggested Uses which I considered would prove most popular in the average home. •'The entries, generally. lacked originality—many merely substituting Palmaiade lor other ingredients In recognised recipes. The scope lor using Palmalade in new ways Is considerable, apart from cake recipes; and more effort might have been made in this direction.
