RISING PRICES FOR WOOL
JAPANESE INDUSTRIALISTS
WORRIED
(Received October 6, 1 a.m.)
TOKYO, October 5
The newspaper “Ashai” says that because of the Japanese boycott of Australian wool, prices have soared elsewhere, and so far this season Japan has actually bought only 60,000 bales of South African and South American wool.
Worried industrialists are proposing a drastic blanket reduction of output which, however, is unacceptable to the Government. Consequently it is anticipated that industrialists will demand that the Government substantially indemnify them for losses arising from the boycott of Australia.
