SOMEHFIELD CLUB
MR W. 11. WINSOR ELECTED A LIFE MEMBER
The seventeenth annual meeting of the Bomerfleld Swimming Club was presided over by the president. Mr A. W. Spence, and there was a large attendance. The special event of the evening was the election of Mr W. H. Wlnsor as the first life member of the club. Mr Spence referred to the splendid services rendered to the club by Mr Wlnso/ over a period of 35 years, and Mr Wlnsor was rightfully patron of the club, in that he had really fathered the Somerfield Club since its inception in 1811. The announcement was received with much acclamation. The officers elected were:—Patron. Mr W. H. Wlnsor; president. Mr A: W. Spence; vice-presidents, Mesdames E. Johnstone and L. M. Menzles. Messrs W. Lenehan. A. Maaey, B. J. Howard, MJP., H. Gunderson! F Milne. J. Wllson.W, H. Hutchens. T: SmirL i. Carter. S. Prebble. W, Sherrard, R. Jones.and H. Williams; club captain, Mr J, A. Johnstone; vice-captain, Mr M. Connor: hon. secretary. Mr 1. H. Gunderson; hon. treasurer,'Mr q. Brown; hon. auditor. Mr J. Wilson; handlcapper, Mr M. Connor; assistant handlcapper, Mr C. Roscoe; ladles* committee, Mesdames •L. Menzles, R. C. Hunter, end P. Mime; men’s committee, Messrs C. Roscoe, R. C. Hunter, J. Hewitt, P. Milne; dub delegates, Messrs Johnstone, Hunter, anc Gunshowed the dub to be in a very Sound position.
