HARMONIC SOCIETY

PLANS FOR CONCERTS The monthly meeting of the committee of the Christchurch Harmonic Society was held last evening* Mr P. H. Christian -being in the chair. Arrangements were completed for the forthcoming concepts of the society to be held in the Civic Theatre this month. It was reported that MiSs Mary Pratt* of Dunedin, had been engaged as contralto soloist, and. that Mr H. M. McCutcheon, the well-known violinist, formerly of Dunedin, but now of Christchurch, had also been engaged. It was decided that the society should {uvite Mr Alfred Wahnsley, of the )unedin Choral Society, to conduct a performance of “The Messiah” at the Civic Theatre on Thursday, December 3. and that arrangements be made for the holding of the society’s garden party as usual in November.
