Designs of the new Royal cypher, 1 which have been approved by the King, have been printed and circulated. The Royal cypher is that used ; by all-departments of State and public bodies* It is also worn by all Army officers and appears normally on regimental colours, standards, guidons,' badges, arms and appointments. The Imperial - cypher, used' in . India for similar purposes has, instead of the “VIII.,” a large ’block letter “I” .between the “E” and: the “R,” and the Crown is smaller.. New regulations governing the wearing of the Royal cypher on naval uniform have also been approved by the King.
