FERRIER WINS EASILY
AMATEUR GOLF TITLE OF AUSTRALIA (Received October 2, 12.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, October 1. Jim Ferrier, the title-holder, without difficulty retained the amateur golf championship of Australia to-day. In the final he beat the Victorian, Alec Rse, 9 and 8. Ferrier played magnificent golf. Since the last round of the open championship on Saturday he has not exceeded 72 for 18 holes. The professional final will be played to-morrow. '
