The “Daily Telegraph,” in a leading article on the Australian migration proposals, says: “Beth Australia and New Zealand have good economic reason for inviting British settlers again; There is no prospect of _the outflow of population from Britain rising to anything comparable to the £ rj-war outflow. It WtulJ be delusory to expect any great reduction in the numbers of British unemployed. “The new movement must be controlled and the colonists must be carefully selected. We shall reap the. harvest in a strengthening and development of the Empire and general prosperity.”
