LEVY TO BE MADE TO PAY OFF DEBT A - recommendation that a levy of Is a fortnight be made to liquidate the existing debt of more than £llOO was made by the Point Elizabeth Medical Society at its half-yearly meeting. Mr J. Devine presided. The balance-sheet showed the expenditure tobe £1426 13s, leaving a debit of £37 15s 3d on the operations over the period. ' ■ In reply to a question it was said that repairs to the medical officer's house had cost £628. Sick members’ payments amounted to £3B tor toe half-year.
