HALL BEATS RAYNER AUSTRALIAN WINS ON POINTS IN HARD HITTING BOUT (P&ZS3 ASSOCIATION TZUSGBAX.)
BLENHEIM, August 20. Joe Hall (Australia) beat Clarrie Eayner (Blenheim) on points, in 15 rounds, in a fight characterised by passages of fierce slugging. The visitor’s clever generalship and expert boxing were seen to advantage. It v/as a return match and attracted a big crowd. Midway through the bout the boxers threw science and discre-
tion to the winds in, virtually, an in fighting. Rayner set out to bustle the Australian and established a lead with a vicious body attack. He was unable to maintain the pace, however, and allowed HaU to make up the leeway.
