OPPOSITION TO LAND TAX
WANGANUI FARMERS PROTEST WANGANUI, August 19. The following resolution was carried by a well-attended meeting of the Wanganui provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day: That this meeting of farmers strongly protest against the proposed substantial increase in taxation as set out in the budget, especially the graduated land tax, and considers this only a further heavy cost against primary production, which cost has * already been considerably increased by recent .legislation. v
