IRVING—TONES , ■ ■- * • ■ • .*• v f> ■ & -■ Late yesterday afternoon,' the marriage was celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church, St Albans, of Edna May; daughter of the late Mr and Mrs William Jones (Papanui road), and James Hdhry Malcolm, son of Mr and Mrs H. R. Irving, Wakefield, Nelson. The ceremony was performed by theTßev. J. F, Feron, and Mr George Wilson was the organist . The bride was escorted by her brother-in-law, Mr George Winter. She wore a becoming frock of primrose satin, the bodice being softened with shirring, and the square neckline relieved with golden brown flowers of satin with primrose centres. The raglan sleeves were tightened at the wrists and formed points over the hands, and a corded belt defined the waist. Primrose coloured roses trimmed- the front of her widebrimmed hat of golden brown straw, and flowers shading from primrose to gold were arranged with boronia and tangerine abutilons in her bouquet Miss Clare Gilchrist, as bridesmaid, wore a frock* of powder blue floral . satin patterned in gold, cornflower blue and beige tohings, and made with a cowled neckline and full bishop sleeves. A blue buckle Qlasped the belt at the waistlihe, and yellow daisies trimmed her wide-brimmed blue straw hat. She carried gold and cornflower blue flowers. Mr F. Irving attended his brother as best man. After the ceremony, close relatives and a few intimate friends were entertained at the home of the bride's sister,'Mr? G. When the bride and bridegroom left by car for Marlborough on their honeymoon, the former was wearing a frock of navy blue crepe romaine with fluted collar and jabot, a navy tailored coat, and small navy hat with upturned brim. ' > / HUSSEY—BAKES Many friends took a kindly interest in a wedding celebrated recently at the Presbyterian Church, Styx, of Minnie, daughter - of Mrs .Bakes and the late Mr Bakes (Harewood), and Reginald Francis, third son of Mr and Mrs C. Hussey (Harewood). The Rev. J. Farrar performed the ceremony; and Mr Cudworth was organist. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr J. Bakes, wore a tight-fitting frock of ivory crepe satin, made with a,.cowl neckline and a fully flared, skirt A silver cord defined the waistline. Her long laceedged veil of tulle was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The pride was attended by . WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION DIAMOND HARBOUE-PURAU The monthly meeting of the Diamond Harbour-Purau branch of trie Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was ' held ' at Godley House, Diamond Harbour, Mrs J.
