AGRICULTURAL WORKERS BILL
TO THE EDITOE OF THE PRESS. Sir—ln “The Press” on Saturday I read’with great interest the new bill that the Government has passed for the dairy farm hands. Can any of your readers tell me if that just stands for the dairy men, or does it go to all farm labourers? I am working on a sheep farm and milk about eight cows in the summer and do general sheep work, fencing, digging, etc., and am 25 years of age. I am not receiving a big wage, so am hoping that I shall be able to receive £2 2s 6d a week after October 1. Also, cqn the farmers put off their hands if they cannot afford to pay the new award of wages?— Yours, MERE FARM HAND . August 17, 1936.
