PAPANUI-MERIVALE SUBBRANCH The monthly committee meeting of the Papanui-Merivale sub-branch of the society was held in the Papanui Plunket rooms. Mrs Vernon Matthews presided!. Nurse Merton’s report was as follows: Adults attended to, 21b; babies, 200; older children, 17. Subscriptions and donations were gratefully received from Mesdames A. R. O’Malley, M. Osborne. H. Brown, N. E. Taylor, W. A. Hooper, E. G. Burn. G. D. Ashton, D. J. Whitehead, and Dunnage. NEW BRIGHTON, SUB-BRANCH Mrs W. Flavel presided at the monthly meeting of the committee of the New Brighton sub-branch of the Plunket Society, held in the Plunket rooms, New Brighton. The secretary (Mrs F. W. Moore) reported that a profit of £8 11s had been shown on the annual dance. Subscriptions had been received from the Opawa-St. Martins and Shirley-Rich-rnond branches, Mesdames Gardner Brown, Nicholls, W. E. Stevens, C. F. Scott, Gadd, and J. H. Shaw. Contributions from mothers through the box in the Plunket rooms during the month amounted to 14s 3d. The report of Nurse E. M. Rose for the month was as follows:—Visits to homes 12. Visits to rooms 154; adults 77, babies 77. New cases, two. Colds had been very prevalent, and there had also been several cases of gastric influenza. Owing to bad weather, the attendances at the rooms had been few. The report was received. LYTTELTON BRANCH The monthly committee meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunket (Society was held in the rooms, and Mrs B. H. Gilmour presided over a good attendance of members. A vote of sympathy with Mrs Comer was passed, members standing in silence. Mr Comer had always been a staunch supporter of Plunket work. He had been a member of the advisory board since 1927, and had also acted as auditor, and for a time was treasurer. Mr: Malden was welcomed as a new member of the committee Arrangements were discussed for the annual street day to ba held jn September. Three parcels of knitted garments were gratefully accepted from the women’s auxiliary of the Toe H, and one from the Diamond Harbour-Purau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs Sutton was granted extended leave of absence. Nurse Twentyman’s report for work done during July was as follows: Lyttelton: Visits to rooms, adults 100, babies 84, pre-school children 11, four new cases, and five test feeds; visits to homes, new cases 23, old cases 38. Heathcote; Visits to rooms, adults 15, babies 15, two pre-school children, and one, new case. Four visits had been paid to homes. Akaroa: Visits to rooms, adults 24, babies 23, two pre-school children, two ,new cases, two home visits, two telephone calls, two letters of advice. Duvauchelle: Four adults, four babies, one preschool child, one new case, and four telephone calls.
