RED CROSS SOCIETY
WORK DONE DURING LAST MONTH A total of 1767 garments were distributed during July by the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society through its depot, according to r.report received at a meeting Of the executive on Tuesday. There were present at the meeting Mr C. J. Ronaldson, in the chair, Messrs Cyrus Williams, A. L Pratt, H. Bowker, Lady Wigram, and Mrs C. J. Treleaven. Apologies for absence were received from Sir Hugh Acland, Messrs C. Buchanan, J. W. Baty, Mesdames H. H. Smith, and E. Peate. The financial statements and reports shoWed that returned soldier patients in hospitals throughout Canterbury and Westland had been supplied with reading matter and other means of recreation during the month. Adjutant Pratt’s report stated that he. had visited men in the Sunnyside Mental Hospital weekly, and supplied them with Red Cross comforts.
