NEW BRIGHTON HIGH SCHOOL
MONTHLY MEETING OF COMMITTEE Tile monthly meeting 01 the New Brighton District High School Committee was held last evening. The chairman (Dr. W, T. Glasgow) presided. The gross receipts from the school concert held on Tuesday evening were shown as £2l Is. The report of the headmaster (Mr F. W. Moore) showed that the average attendance had been 549 (Main 484, South 05). out of a total roll of 610 (Main 534, South 76), The report of the inspector was read in committee. Mr J. S. Ainsworth Said that the report was a vei'y gOOfl One, and on hte motion if was decided to congratulate the staff of the school. Broken Windows The headmaster reported that a large window in the laboratory of the secondary school had been broken by a stone thrown by n pupil. Some months ago, there had been an epidemic of broken windows, and he had given strict instructions to the pupils about stone and ball throwing. The eommitee's policy about the replacement of broken windows was discussed, and the matter waft left to the chairman and secretary to interview the parents of the youth. The secretary said that It would cost approximately 15s to replace the window. Meedames H. O. Brooks and J. Bellamy were appointed the visiting committee Tor the next month.
