Mowbray Tripp (Geraldine), who is visiting Christchurch, will return home to-morrow. Her niece, Miss Rosemary Williams, Hawke’s Bay, who has been her guest, is now staying with Mrs C. Maclaverty, Hororata. Mrs Herbert Acton-Adams and Miss Peggy Acton-Adams (Tipapa), who have been visiting Christchurch, returned home yesterday.. Mr and Mrs Russell Laidlaw (Oaro), who have been the guests of Mrs F. G. Gibson, Victoria Mansions, returned home yesterday. Mrs J. D. Carl (Murray place) is visiting Mrs Peter Hall, Hawarden.

Mrs Walter B. Harris (Andover street) is visiting her mother, Mrs R. T. Pope, Kaikoura. Miss Marie Moffatt (Palmerston North) is the guest of Mrs Sinclair Gower, Wairarapa terrace.

Mrs C. Knight (Geraldine) has returned home after spending a holiday with Mrs W. Foster. Gloucester street.

Mrs Walter Bridge has returned from Auckland, where she has been spending'the winter months. . Mr apd Mrs McCaul (Wellington) are visiting Westport. At the invitation of Mrs A. E. Golding parents of her young pupils attended a demonstration of the work of the dancing class in the Parish Hall, Rangiora. Pupils who took part were June Archer, Lorna Masters, A. McKay, Margaret Schluter, Beverley Coates, Joy Herron, Minnie Rouse, Joyce Stubley, Vivien Ellis, Janice Tolmie, Melva Saunders, Gwynneth Morgan, Margaret Marshall, Zita Lockhart, Mary Kippenberger, Vera Miles, Ruth Fleming, Helen Fincham, Alison Hindle, and June, Audrey, and Lucie-Annette Golding. .

Members of the Beckenham Methodist Ladies’ Guild met at the home of Mrs D. Stewart to wish her ft pleasant holiday in Scotland and a safe return. A small presentation was made, and appreciation was expressed of Mrs Stewart’s work as secretary of the guild. There were some New Zealanders who had the good fortune to be presented to the. King at his first garden party Court. As the guests arrived they were given their seats, and early arrivals experienced the thrill of presentation before the rain caused cancellation of the proceedings. A meeting of past and present kindergarten teachers was held recently at the Sunbeam Kindergarten and those present decided to form a kindergarten teachers’ association to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the opening of kindergartens in Christchurch. It was decided that the association should be called the Kindergarten Club, and officers were appointed. as follows:—President, Miss H. Hull; vice-presidents, Miss E. Page and Miss H. Gorrie; secretary, Miss Betty Thompson; treasurer, Miss Margery Suckling; committee, Mrs Josling, Misses N. McKechnie, Joy Bertram, M. Martin, Phyllis Cameron, Molly Evans, and Barbara Mulcock.
