KING EDWARD IN JUGOSLAVIA

VISIT TO ROYAL FAMILY

JOURNEY INCOGNITO TO JOIN

YACHT NAHLIN

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.)

(Received August 10, 9.30 p.m.)

BELGRADE, August 9,

Prince Paul, Chief Regent of Jugoslavia, and the British Minister, Mr J. Balfour, welcomed King Edward at the railway station at Jesenice and drove him to Prince Paul’s summer residence, where he was presented to Princess Olga. After this they accompanied him by train to Ljubljana to catch a special court train to Zagreb en route for Sibenik, where the King will board the yacht Nahiin, for his Mediterranean cruise, on Monday morning. The weather at present is rough.

The King’s incognito was strictly observed, though pedestrians at galzburg waved to the King who waved back as he walked through the streets, after visiting the Castle of Heilbrunn, St. Peter’s cemetery, and inspecting the Salzburg festival hall. The police detained a press photographer who tried to take a snapshot of him. The newspapers print long biographical editorials of welcome. The Jugoslav Court cook was detailed to help the King’s chef. A sumptuous touring car was dispatched to Sibenik for the King’s land excursions.

There will be no official reception, the Prime Ministei’, M. Nilan Stojadinovic, alone greeting the King. KING BOARDS THE NAHLIN BELGRADE, August 10. The King embarked on the Nahiin this morning.
