TO THE- EDITOR OF - THE PRESS. Sir —ln your issue of August 8 I noticed that the Public Works Department is going to spend money m the Canterbury district Warning has also been given that no country worker or farm hand has a show of getting a job with the department. The farmer will be able to say to his workers, “You- belong to me. Leave us and Mr Semple will.starve you. Does Mr Semple think we are just a lot of ignorant country yokels, that have not got the inside of a whitebait? I do not think any self-respecting farm hand will stand these insults much longer, without putting up a fight for a white August 10, 1936.,
