McGEEGOR FUND CLOSED
TOTAL MORE THAN £SOOO NO EXPENSES INCURRED [THE PRESS Special Service.] WELLINGTON, August 10. The McGregor National Fund, raised to assist the dependents of Squadron Leader.M. C. McGregor, of Palmerston North, who died following an accident with the aeroplane he was flying at Rongotai, has now closed, the total amount received being £5149 15s, with a sum of £ls yet to be forwaded from Wairarapa. It is claimed that the raising of this money is unique, as the gross amount is also the net amount. There were no expenses of any kind and every penny subscribed goes to the fund. Postages, telegrams, clerical work, and everything else were given by members of the committee, in addition to their services, and the associated banks made Ell transactions free of exchange. The terms of the deed of trust will be made as wide as possible on the discretionary powers of the trustees, to allow a portion of the capital fund to be available for family emergencies. The committee has recommended that the Guardian Trust Company be trustee with Mrs McGregor; Mr H. C. Walker to be advisory trustee (representing the committee), with any other advisory trustees nominated by Mrs McGregor.
