The best times to tune in on the broadcast band at present are: —Eastern Australia, 7 p.m. to 1 a.xn. and 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m.; Australian amateurs, 1 to 3 a.m.; Western Australia, 11 p.m. to 2.30 a.m.; Japan, 9.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m.; India, 2.30 to 5 a.m.; Africa, 3 to 7 a.m.; China, 12.30 to 3.30 a.m.; South America, 2.30 to 5 p.m.; North America. 5 to 7.30 p.m. The Christchurch branch of the association will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, in Charles Begg and Company’s recital room (entrance Bedford row), at 8 p.m. Mr C. R. Russell will give a talk on “Personal Radio Experiences.” Prizes will also be presented to the winners of the halfyearly competitions. The following half-yearly competition results are announced; Broadcast, best verifications, senior, W. O’Brien, 9 points. 1; N. C. Manchester and W. R. Newton, 4£ points, equal, 2; junior. J. Moore, 9 points, 1; J. Forrest. 4 points, 2; most progress, W. R. Newton, 78 verifications; short-wave, F. C. Reynolds, 2i points, 1.
