GERMAN AERIAL EXPANSION
I j PRIME MINISTER NOT MISLED LONDON, July 2. . In the House of Commons the Prime Minister (Mr Stanley Baldwin), replying to Mr Tom Johnston (Labour), denied that there had been any difference between himself and the Air Ministry on the earlier estimates of the rate of German aerial expansion, which had been falsified by subsequent acceleration, which was greater than anticipated. There was no foundation for the supposition that he had disregarded his advisers’ warnings in 1934. In saying that they had misled him he did not intend to make any reflection on any department or individual.
