ABOUT NEWS

TO TKB EDITOR OF THE PRESS.

Sv, —I see that Mr Bray this morning attempts to teach you your business, but I see that he thinks this page has a “circulation value.” So do I, and I want to congratulate you on the way you “skimmed the cream” off several letters that had piled up. Instead of saying “Bother ’em,” you gave us all a show in your “Points From Other Letters.” What an education it must be. for you to read our opinions on the variety of subjects that crop up on this page where we split the logical straws about the salvation of souls, or what suits the crop of a budgerigar, or what disagrees with the internal economy of a rat, or how to make the old lime and sulphur sheep dip as a spray for fruit trees. If we could only solve the world money muddle—find some royal road to “the defeat of debt,” a state of indebtedness that some economists tell us is deliberately manoeuvred by the money bugs, as it suits their trade, Utopia might be just round the corner. Mr Gibson and Germany think more population is wanted, Russia told her women that she wanted 300 million by 1970, and the Bible tells us to increase and multiply; but it does not say like rabbits. We know that many forms of life have become extinct. So will we if we fail to obey the command, love ye one another.— Yours, etc., PETER TROLOVE. June 18, 1936.
