USE OF COMPANIES’ PRESENT BRANDS URGED

HASTINGS, June 18. The National Dairy Association continued its conference to-day.

The following remit,-moved by the Westmere Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was carried:—“ln the absence of information as to the Government’s method of marketing and distributing our dairy produce, and to ensure that dairy companies retain that goodwill for their respective brands which has been built up over a period of years by consistent good quality, this conference urges that the companies’ present brands be used in conjunction with the Dominion brand.” Another remit was carried:—“ That the question of milk grading be referred to the director of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture to remove some anomalies which exist.” The following remit, moved by the Kokatau Co-operative Dairy Company. was carried: —“In the event of a premium being paid on grade, the grading should be done where the produce is sold, and there should be only two grades.” , , , , , The conference adopted a mutual insurance scheme prepared by a special committee appointed at the conference last year.
