NATIONAL DAIRY ASSOCIATION
♦ A SATISFACTORY YEAR REPORTED IF ESS 3 ASSOCIATION TKUSQBAU.) HASTINGS, June 17. The sixth annual meeting of the National Dairy Association commenced to-day, Mr A. Morton presiding over a large attendance. The chairman said the total Vblume of trading was rather less than in the previous year, the chief reason being that because of the dry autumn in the season before last a number of factories carried over part of their stocks, with a resulting decrease in indent orders. However, the year’s results were satisfactory, so much so that the association was able to increase depreciation payments and to pay a rebate at the same rate as in' the previous year—l per cent, on purchases. The association had £30,000 worth of machinery on order, which showed that factories were modernising plant, and preparing to handle an increased output
Things were much better than they had been, and it looked as though good times were ahead, said Mr Morton, in reference to the contributing shares. The report stated that the profit and loss account showed a credit of £220 10s 6d.
The following retiring directors were elected to the executive;—Mr James Cotter (Auckland), Mr J. G. Brechin (Wellington), Mr A. Morton (Taranaki).
