A MATTER OF TASTE

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, — Those stern philologists who would decry The hybrid antics of the octopi. Can move, it needs be. in more proper modes By keeping company with the octopodes; And others, heeding Greek and Roman gods. Keep wrestling with the limbered octopods. Scorning the antics of those awful cusses Who keep their preference for octopusses; Though if we think they’re game, they can tor us Be rightly pluralled as the octopus. And from this war we learn —the point’s not slight— That all are wrong, so any one is right. —Yours, etc., JAPE. June 14. 1936.
