POSSIBILITY OF EXPORT OF POTATOES SYDNEY WOOL VALUES STEADY Values at the Sydney wool sales yesterday remained on a par with the reduced rates established on the first day. The Japanese again refrained from bidding. Withdrawals were heavy. The Bradford market, according to latest advices is hrm, will, a little more business. ’ There is a possibility that an export trade in potatoes may be opened up with South America, several enquiries from the Argentine and Uruguay having been received recently. In J933 there were shipments of about 2000 tons to South America, and the trade had a good effect on the market in New Zealand. In the meantime the local market remains quiet. The Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday had fair business, but a number r* the issues which have been popular lately were written down. The losses were not serious, and turnover was well maintained.
