MASKED PIRATES RAID FREIGHTER
ESCAPE MADE WITH UK H BOOTY (Received June 14, 10.18 p.m.) BUCHAREST, June 13. Brandishing daggers and pistols, masked pirates raided the Egyptian freighter, Marbo, in the Rumanian port of Braila. Bearing down on their prey in boats with muflled oars, the pirates climbed aboard, and after binding' and gagging the sleeping crew, ransacked the ship. Not content with their rich booty, which included valuable carpets and Oriental goods, they stripped the crew, leaving them stark naked. Coastguards and police pursued and fired on the pirates, but without any effect.
