Older people might take a lesson from the energy and enthusiasm of the Shipmates and Sunbeams of “The Press Ship.” With the coming of winter they are setting to work raising funds for the relief of distress in the city, and making preparations for a forthcoming Christmas Mission. This evening the girls of the “Gay Chums Club," Woodend, are holding a euchre party and dance in the Public Hall, Woodend, at which the patrons will be their fathers, mothers, and friends. A programme that would do credit to much older organisers is assured, including Monte Carlo waltz, supper, and prizes. This afternoon, at St. Mary’s Schoolroom, the Cheerful Workers Club is holding a fair, at which a variety stall, afternoon tea, and other attractions will be the order of the day.

DANCES ARRANGED On Monday evening at the Caledonian Hall, the management of. the Select Old-Time Dance will present a Dong Tack Sam ball, Chinese hats by Johnnie Campbell will be distributed during the evening. Long Tack Sam and party will be the guests of the evening. Admission prices will be reduced to-night at the Latimer Hall old-time dance, which is under the auspices of Stillwell's Dance Assembly. George Holland’s band will provide the music. Old and new dances will be included on the programme at the dance to be held this evening at the Caledoman Hall, under the auspices of the Caledonian Select Assembly.
