Diamond Harbour Golf Club, this afternoon, women's match for first, second, and third-year players; men’s medal match. To-morrow, men’s stroke match; Ladles’ Golf Union medal match. Lyttelton Golf Club, Charteris Bay, to-morrow, Bradley Shilling match; women’s medal match and sealed-hole match. Personal Mr and Mrs J. Garrard left last evening for Auckland. Magistrate’s Court At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Messrs J. N. Neville and T. A. Mahar, Justices of the Peace, John Nugent, a seaman, was charged with deserting from the steamship Rotorua at Wellington in December, 1935. On the application of the police he was remanded until Monday. School Committee Meeting Mr W. T. Lester presided at the monthly meeting of the committee of the Lyttelton District High School. The headmaster reported that the average attendance was fair and compared favourably with the attendance for the same period last year. It was reported that the heating of the school was not yet satisfactory, and It was decided to write again to the Canterbury Education Board, asking that the request for improved heating be treated as urgent. The committee decided to m#.:e a grant of £7 10s towards the cost of sports gear and transport for the school sports teams.
