MOTHER BUNCH DROPS HER STITCHES

“Now, we are a)l cosy and settled in for the night” said Mother Bunch, picking up her knitting with a determined air. “What shall we talk aboutf” Aunt Amelia Aeroplane poked her head through the window. She had to stay outside , since the whole of her really wouldn’t fit into ““The Press Ship” cabin. “I know,” said Aunt Amelia Aeroplane,'with an excited whirr of her wings, and a catch in her voice. “ *The Press Ship ’ Christmas and Winter Missions.” “Goodl Goodl Good!” cried Ernest and Peter hopping up and down, while Mother Bunch forgot all about her knit • ting, and dropping three stitches on the floor, and never even stopped to pick them up. Lady Gay sat back with a big smile. “Yes, we’ll talk about the Christmas and Winter Missions,” she said. “Do you know, parcels are being sent out each week to those in need of them. Warm guilts and woollen garments have helped to keep small girls and boys warm during the last few frosty days.” “And a committee of mothers has some wonderful plans in store,” said Mother Bunch dropping ALL her stitches now, and never even trying to pick up one. “If members watch next week’s paper they will find out just what these are. And ” “And the clubs are working wonderfully,” added Peter Piglet, with a great grunt of joy. “There are clubs everywhere ~from half way up the North Island to right to the bottom of the South. And these clubs are all forming up now. There are concerts, and fairs, and fancy-dress parties, and—; —” “And everything!” finished Mother Bunch, with a great sigh of joy. “Never mind about my knitting, Peter and Ernest.
