HITLER’S VIEW OF STRIKES

PROOF OF SPREAD OF V BOLSHEVISM % . RELUCTANT TO REPLY TO BRITISH QUESTIONS 1 LONDON, June 10. Herr Hitler reported to regard the strikes in France as the fulfilment of his prophecy that Bolshevism has spread to France. His aversion to the Soviet influence extending to France and even to the western democracy as a whole, is increasing his reluctance to reply to the British questionnaire. The enquiries addressed to Herr Hitler’s Government by the British Government with a view to clarifying Britain’s proposals for negotiations for peace on a new basis were mentioned at question time in the House of Commons.

‘ The Foreign Minister (Mr R* A. Eden) said that no reply had yet been received to the communication made-'by the British Ambassador to Berlin (Sir Eric Phipps) on May 6. Mr Eden added: “On May 523 the British Ambassador was instructed to remind the German Government of the desire of his Majesty’s Government to receive a reply. Sir Eric Phipps was further asked to emphasise that his Majesty’s Government was anxious to elucidate as soon as possible points which were not clelt, to it in the German Government’s memoranda of March 7, 24, and 31, and that the purpose of his Majesty’s Government y/as to secure that general negotiations should be opened for the conclusion of Western and Eastern European security arrangements and the return of Germany to the league, with a view to a permanent solution of the continuing situation created by the German Government’s action' in March. In reply, it was intimated to Sir Eric Phipps by the German Government on May 26, that no reply would be forthcoming until after the formation of the new French Government. \
