OBITUARY
REV. FATHER R. HEGARTY The death is reported of the Rev. Father Richard Hegarty, parish priest of Feilding, after a week’s illness. Born in Ireland 43 years ago, Father Hegarty was ordained a priest in 1916 after completing his theological studies at St. John's, Waterford, On his arrival in New Zealand early in 1917 he was appointed assistant parish priest at Westport, later being assistant priest at Patea, Masterton, and Eltham.
