MODEL BUILDING BY-LAWS
ADOPTION ADVOCATED IN HOUSE [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, June 5. The adoption of model building by-laws was advocated by Mr C. L. Carr (Govt., Timaru) in notice of a question addressed to the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Carr said he would ask the Minister whether model building by-laws were likely to be framed and enforced in the near future, with buildings classified under three headings. At present jerry-building was a growing evil everywhere. An Opposition member: In Timaru? Mr Carr: Yes. Certainly.
