FARES: Tickets at special excursion fares will be issued to Ashburton from Christchurch-Timaru and intermediate stations on direct line of route on 13th June by trains arriving Ashburton up to 11.30 a.m. (excepting the 8.35 a.m. Christchurch-Invercargill Express), available for return up to 15th June, but NOT by the Express train leaving Ashburton for Christchurch at 6.5 p.m. on 13th June. Special passenger train (steamheated) for Ashburton Racecourse and Ashburton, taking passengers from Christchurch, Addington, Sockburn, Templeton, Rolleston, Dunsandel, and Rakaia only, will leave Christchurch 9.42 a.m. and arrive Racecourse at 11.19 a.m., Ashburton 11.27 a.m. Return train, taking passengers for Rakaia, Dunsandel, Rolleston, Templeton, Sockburn, Addington, and Christchurch only, leaves Ashburton 4.10 p.m., and Racecourse 4.40 p.m., arriving Christchurch 6.15 p.m. The 7.10 a.m. Christchurch-Ashbur- } ton train will stop at the Racecourse I Siding to set down passengers. The 3.50 p.m. Ashburton-Christ-church train will leave the Racecourse Siding at 3.56 p.m. and will run EARLIER from Rakaia to Selwyn, leaving Rakaia at 4.40 p.m., Dunsandel 5.15 p.m,, and arriving Selwyn 5.21 p.m.. thence at usual time. A fast Special train conveying racehorses and with passenger accommodation will leave Christchurch for Ashburton at 8.40 a.m. and will stop at Ashburton Saleyards Siding to discharge horses; arrives Racecourse Siding 10.50 a.m. Return train leaves Asnburton Saleyards Siding at 5 p.m. ASHBURTON-TIMARU. Usual 4.31 p.m. Ashburton-Timaru train leaves Ashburton 5.5 p.m., and arrives Timaru 7.27 p.m. It will take horses from the Races. Should the Races be postponed, the Special trains will NOT run.
