CROQUET
SUMNER CLUB A credit balance of £25 16s 3d was shown in the balance-sheet presented to the annual meeting of the Sumner Croquet Club, which was held recently. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr T. Newburgh; president, Mrs R. Buxton; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hudson, Brown, Robert Chapman, and Isaac Wilson, and Messrs H. H. Barlow, T. Chambers. H. C. S. Jamieson, R. Buxton, H. Williams, H. Y. Widdowson, G, Burrowes, and W. H. Nicholson; captain, Mrs Menzies; secretary and treasurer, Miss E. A. Bell; committee, Mesdames Newburgh, Claydon, Cheshire, Malley, and Chapman, and Misses Overton, Wood, and Cook. The secretary was appointed delegate to the association. Mr Overend’s engagement as greenkeeper was renewed. The president referred to the loss the cluß had sustained through the deaths of Mr Rawnsley and Mrs H. H. Barlow.
