A ROMANCE OF MODERN BUSINESS
♦ - A TRIBUTE TO NEWSPAPERS That commercial life to-day still has its romance is indicated by the story I behind the development of the following successful enterprise. About five years ago a New Zealand Chemist evolved a remedy for Rheumatism, and so successful did it prove, that after being first marketed in New Zealand, it was patented, and under the title of R.U.R. is being sold to-day in England, Ireland, Canada, U.S.A., Australia, and New Zealand, with a Money-Back Guarantee Certificate. And so from small beginnings lias grown a great organisation selling a remedy which is being marketed, in most parts of the world. Newspaper advertising, in which the Christchurch "Press" was associated (and incidentally the first paper used) has made this marketing possible, and R.U.R. is an instance of a product well marketed. This fact is commended to the attention of other manufacturers desiring to reach the public in the most effective way. During aa, interview on his return from abroad, the proprietor said: "I would not mind if all other forms of advertising, were scrapped so long as newspapers are available for this purpose." R.U.R. is advertised in these columns and may be purchased in this city, sufferers from Rheumatism being invited to ask the local Chemists, Messrs Barnett and Co., or E. Cameron Smith, Ltd., lor the free booklet. —1
