SELWYN FISHING

TO THB EDITOR 07 TBI FBES9. Sir,—Just now and for some days past the Selwyn river has been in excellent order for fishing. Conditions have been perfect at times both for spinning and dry-fly fishing, but alas, awry a fish can be seen to rise. If the Selwyn hut-owners wish to conserve the value of their huts they must make some move to see that the fishing in the river is conserved. There aeems to be too much apathy among fishers, and shooters, too, and before the annual general meeting comes along they should rouse themselves. Let them be sure to send their suggestions to Mr Pomfret Dodd before April 4. I thought when I wrote my last letter that at least a few would have toeen interested enough to xnake some food reading in your correspondence columns—perhaps a line or two from the research committee.—Yours, etc.j C. P. PRATT. March 30, 1936.
