WOMEN’S CRICKET

TECHNICAL DEFEATS MAI MOA

The last games this season of the women’s cricket competition were played on Saturday. Most attention was taken in the, match at Malvern Park between Mai Moa. which had already won its way into a position that assured it of the senior championship tills season, and Technical Old Girls, last year’s winners.. The .game resulted in a surprise win for Technical. Mai Moa fielded only 10 players; but mainly through the forceful batting of M. Marks, V. Belworthy, and P. Rickerby, the creditable total of 87 was compiled before the side was dismissed. The Technical batswomen were on form, however, and though their side was three players short, they passed the Mai Moa total and went on to make 101. runs, D. Preece scor.-" ing 37 and R. Martin 27 retired.

In the junior grade, a Sumner team of eight players easily defeated the Beckenham side with only five players: and Mai Moa beat a Harewood team of eight players. Detailed scores were as follows: SENIOR GRADE
