LONDON SHIPPING

During the week ended, February 7, 1,325 vessels, representing 1,060,251 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of these 451 vessels (788,496 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports and 974 vessels (271,055 net register tens! were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included 11 meat cargoes, viz. eight from Australia and three from South America, comprising 437,000 carcases of lamb and mutton, 130,000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork, rabbits, and sundries. , . Nine timber«laden vessels arrived at the Surrey Commercial docks with 10,371 tons of softwood.

NEW SSIALANn-LONDON cargoes

During fee month of January seven vessels from New Zealand docked in the Royal Albert and King‘George V. docks, London. Among the cargoes discharged were 481,000 carcases of lamb and mutton, II.QQQ quarters of chilled and frozen beef. 343,000 boxes of butter and 85.000 crates el cheese. These vessels also discharged 38,000 hales of wool. In addition to large quantities pf hides, skins, pelts, and tallow. An unusual Item of cargo was eight bags of frozen eels, in the same month exports for New Zealand from these docks Included no fewer than 468 motor-cars; machinery, Iron and steel goods accounted for some 750 tons; paints and oils, Thames*side pro-* ducts for 193 tons; while other London manufactures were represented t by wines and spirits, tobacco and cigarettes, electrical goods, linoleum, paper, books, etc.
