Her Excellency Lady Galway, the Hon. Mrs White and Miss England, and Captain A G. W. Heber-Percy, A.D.C., arrived m Invercargill on Friday evening from Lake Te Anau, Mrs J F. Studholme (Fendalton) returned yesterday from a visit to the King Country; . Mrs George Murray (“Braemar”), Mr and Mrs Bruce Murray, and Mr and Mrs Gerald Murray (Mackenzie Country) will arrive in Christchurch to-dayand will stay at the New City Hotel. Messrs 'B. ; and G. Murray will play in the polo tournament, which will begin at the polo ground, Hagley Park, on Thursday. Mrs John Rennie (Fendalton) has returned home after spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs H. H. 'Doughty, Gore. Mr and Mrs Harold Elworthy (Timaru) are expected to arrive in Christchurch to-morrow. Mr Elworthy will play in the polo tournament, beginning on Thursday. Mr and Mrs Arthur Grigg (Surrey Hills) will arrive in Christchurch on Wednesday and will be the guests of Mr and Mrs Rossmore Cracroft Wilson, Riccarton, Mrs L. Boddam (London) sister of Sir Benjamin Fuller, arrived from the north yesterday-and is staying at Warner’s Hotel for a few days. Mrs Hunter-.Weston and Miss Hunter-Weston (Tekapo) will arrive in Christchurch on Wednesday. They will be accompanied by Mrs Fulton and Mrs Fergus (Dunedin). Mrs J. S. Kelly (Cranmer square) returned yesterday from a month’s holiday in Wellington. Mr and Mrs Clifton Johnston (Highland Park, Wellington) are spending a few days visiting relates in Christchurch before they leave on Wednesday for a holiday in Dunedin. Miss Kitty Dixon (Eyrewell, West Eyreton) left by the Ruahine for a visit to Great Britain. She is travelling with Miss A. G. Todhunter (Naseby street), and together they will stay in London for a short time before visiting relatives in the country. Miss Betty Cotterill and Miss Jean Webster (St. Elmo Courts) will leave on Saturday to visit Mrs Neill Rattray, Waimate. Misses Vera and Rita Skurr, who have been spending a holiday in Marlborough and Nelson, are expected to return to Oxford on Tuesday. Miss Cora Wilding (“Fownhope,” Opawa), who is spending a holiday at Lake Pukaki, will return home this week.
