ORARI GARDEN COMPETITION
RESULTS OF JUDGING ANNOUNCED Keen interest has been shown in the progress of the gardens of competitors in the Guyan A. «M. Macdonald Home and Garden Competition, held under the auspices of the Orari Horticultural Society. Gardens in this competition were judged during each of the months of December, January, and February, and marks were given under the four sections of appearance, convenience, vegetables, fruit, flowers, and shrubs. Further marks were then given to competitors for prize points scored in the last three sections at the Orari Horticultural Show, and prizes awarded the two competitors with most points in each section. Further prizes were awarded for the two competitors securing the highest totals. This year's competition attracted five competitors and the judging was done by Messrs G. Coombs (Geraldine) and G. I. Hamilton (Orari). The following are the results:—Appearance: W, J. Johnston, 92 points, 1; E. Carter, 83J points, 2. Vegetables: W. J. Johnston, 86 points, 1; E. Carter, 83£ points, 2. Fruit: E. Carter, 67i points, 1; B. Pierce, ei£ points, 2. Flowers: W. J. Johnston, 78£ points, 1; E. R. O'Neill, 73 points, 2. Totals: E. Carter, 294J points, and W. J. Johnston, 294| points, equal, 1: E. R.
