SCOTTISH SOCIETY'S CEILIDH
Chief G. M. Telfer presided at the monthly ceilidh of the Scottish Society. He was supported by Senior Chieftain G. A. D. Sutherland and Chieftain E. D. McDonald. Chief Telfer welcomed the large attendance of mem'oers and friends, and thanked Mr Peter Duncan, who presented two volumes of strathspeys and reels to the socictv.
The programme for the evening was arranged by Councillors D. G. Dickson and M. >Shier. Mesdames Dickson and Shier were hostesses. • Miss Alice G. Gibb was accompanist, and Pipe-Major McLachlan accompanied the Highland dancers. The floor was cleared for dancing to music played by Mrs Creagh. The following items were given:—Selection, Society's Pipe Band; Highland reel, Misses Niagri Brown, Lenore Upton, Joan McDonald, and Jean Smith; song, Miss Weston; sean triubhais, Miss Joan McDonald; recitation, Mrs Madje Brown; song, Mr Ron. Foster; son?, Mrs M. Simpson (Australia); hornpipe, Miss Jean Smith; song. Master Ken. Mackwell; tap dance, Miss Lenore Upton; recitation, Mrs Temple; song, Mrs.Madge Brown; song. Miss Weston; Irish jig, Miss Niagri Brown; recitation, Mr Ron. Foster; song, Mrs M. Simpson (Australia); song, Master 'Ken. Mackwell; reel o' Tulloch, Misses Niagri Brown Lenore Upton, Joan McDonald, and Jean Smith.
