CO-ORDINATION OF INDUSTRIES
“EFFICIENCY” BILL IN PREPARATION MINISTER’S PLANS An Industries Elliciency BUI. which will provide for rationalisation and coordination of industries, is being prepared by the Minister for Industries and Commerce (the Hon, D. G. Sullivan). The Minister said on Saturday that the exact terms of the bill had not yet been settled, but ho hoped to have jt ready in lime to be passed in the coming ’session. He was having the subject thoroughly examined to get, if possible, a measure that would carry the confidence of the interested parties, and still be effective in achieving its purpose. The bill would provide for the representation of the Minister, through the Department of Industries and Commerce, on some form of controlling authority. He was endeavouring to" get down to details after consulting with officials of the department and other experienced persons, but there was still a good deal of work to be done before the bill would be ready.
