Flandin (French Foreign Minister) and, according to information in diplomatic circles, warned him that considerable danger would attend the application of oil sanctions. Signor Cerutti also pointed out that Signor Grandi (Italian Ambassador in London) had similarly warned Mr R. A. Eden, adding that Italy would not consent to the safety of her armies being jeopardised by Geneva.
